January 01, 2010
song for the year past
Scattered shadows on a wall, you watch the long light fall
Some impressions stay and some will fade
Tattered shoes outside your door, clothes all on the floor
Your life feels like the morning after all year long.
Every day it starts again
You cannot say if you’re happy
You keep trying to be
Try harder, maybe this is not your year.
Movies, TV screens reflect just what you expected
There’s a world of shiny people somewhere else
Out there following their bliss
living easy, getting kissed
while you wonder what else you’re doing wrong
Breathe through it, write a list of desires
Make a toast, make a wish, slash some tires
Paint a heart repeating, beating “don’t give up, don’t give up, don’t give up.”

Some years are better than others. Things improve slowly and deliberately. Hope this new year is an improvement for you.

I discovered your blog through Ravelry and made your grocery bag clutch (using yarn...) and may I say, it's the greatest, cutest pattern ever I've seen! And this is one of my most favorite songs from some of my most favorite people! My favorite part? The last verses. Sometimes you just have to slash some tires, make a toast, breathe, and don't give up!

I don't vist here often, not being a knitter. I do love your choice of books. Sorry for your loss. An animal is the dearest of friends. Maybe in time you will run in to another friend in need of a home. I know how I would feel if I lost my dog. Be well. Bill

Yeah.. sometimes we just have to accept that it's not our year/time. We can't force things to be always in our side so we must always be ready. I hope you all the best in life.. God Bless!
