Frankenkitty

This is Molly after her surgery last week. She got her stitches out today and her fur is starting to grow back, so she doesn't look quite as scary anymore.

The operation she had was a thyriodectomy to remove an enlarging gland in her neck. While not immediately life-threatening, this was not a good thing.

Ironically, it was her recurring urinary infections brought on by the stress of moving that led to the discovery of the lump. During a visit, the vet felt a lump, and by the time we returned for our next visit, it had grown.

The histology came back that it was a cyst and non-malignant. So, it looks like she'll be sticking around a little longer.

She still can't quite purr.

Please knit the darling Puss a neck cozy! Silk and wool would be nice. Get well soon Molly.

Molly - holy cow! I'm glad she's on the mend, but my neck is itching just looking at those stitches.

The fact that she's staring out the window and is interested in something out there is a good sign... Kudos to Kitty for being a trooper!

I'm glad it was non-malignant and she's doing better. Poor kitty must REALLY hate going to the vet by now.

Joker and Chaos here. Molly, we're very happy that you're doing better. Have your momma knit you a cashmere cowl! Also, lots of tuna flakes, catnip and a nice big fluffy pillow to relax on. It helps with the healing.

Oops, gotta run, our momma's coming....

So glad she is doing better! Poor kitty!

She will purr again! My CC has had the surgery twice - TWO thyroids...(they can have more than one)
;)
And CC is going strong - 4 years after the second surgery...

can I ask how you knew she had a urinary infection? What was she doing that made you know something was wrong? I always worry something like that will happen to my baby and I won't see the signs and it will be too late because she's a cat and can't talk to me!

Wow poor kitty..my sympathies.
