I didn't know you were paying attention

Yesterday during a presentation, I noticed that the co-worker sitting next to me was examining me intently. I was a little puzzled and couldn't figure out what she must be looking at. When the presentation was over, she turned and said, "You aren't wearing anything hand-knitted today." If I keep that up, I'll lose my reputation.

Perhaps you weren't wearing anything handknitted on the outside (point her in the direction of the Joan McGowan knitted things!) or maybe you weren't wearing anything that fitted her asumptions of what handknitted looks like (people have been fooled before by what we knitters get upto)

Holy crap. That's a lot of pressure. I hope nobody is looking at me.

Today I'm mailing a knitted gift to a friend. I've lost count of the dishclothes, scarves, and iPod holders I've made since I finally got the hang of this in December. Today's offering is a baby blanket.

It is just a matter of time until I can make something and wear it to work...but how long until I can have the same exchange with a coworker?!!!
