threadless $10 sale

Remember those sheepy t-shirts from Threadless that I mentioned? Well, now until September 3rd, Threadless is having a Back to School $10 sale. Stock up on your favorites.

I wish the girly sizes weren't so small, or that I weren't so not small. [boo]

IK is OK

So, Celeste was wondering what I thought of the most recent issue of Interweave Knits with Eunny at the helm, seeing as I had panned the last issue.

My overall impression is favorable. The photo styling and model poses are not as annoying this time; nary a hem touch in site. The presentation of the designs in front and patterns in the back was also handled much better--largely, I think, because of the addition of the detail shots. Detail shots are good. I like. My only only substantial formatting critique: the round insets and little flowery dingbats in the Warm Thoughts section seemed out of step with the rest of the layouts and looked a bit dated.

The patterns? As may be expected, the season dictates a better crop of designs. My favorites are Eunny's Tangled Yoke Cardigan and the Minimalist Cardigan. Jared's Cobblestone Pullover is also a nice piece of design masquerading as a simple sweater. However, I think the photo with the pattern makes it look much more appealing than any of the three in the front of the magazine. [OK, I guess I has at least one more editorial nitpick].

Those are my opinions, for what they are worth. You are more than capable to judge for yourselves.

FYI, my father is visiting for the next couple of weeks, so I am likely to be scarce.

1am

Why can't I make things be the way I want them to be? I don't mean things out of my control like my mom or the state of the world. I mean things like my knitting, my blog, my house, my diet.

It seems as though one would have to be so deliberate, and I'm so haphazard.

they outnumber us

Not a good thing when you start the day thinking, "Damn, I hope that is a really big spider."

counting sheep

Maybe you've already seen and purchased one of the sheepy t-shirt designs available from Threadless [1 2 3 4]. Two of the designs are currently out of print; but if enough people request them, they might reprint them.

Now you can get one of these designs as a very cool set of wall decals from blik.

Sheep

No more sleepless nights.

games that terrorized my childhood

Talking today about board games of our childhoods, I came up with one no one else could remember.

Big, pink plastic thumbs are used to place little plastic sticks of dynamite into the chimney of a rickety shack about to blow its top.

Remember it? It's 'Dynamite Shack'.

Need the instructions? [pdf]

I did not think this was a fun game.
