games that terrorized my childhood
Talking today about board games of our childhoods, I came up with one no one else could remember.
Big, pink plastic thumbs are used to place little plastic sticks of dynamite into the chimney of a rickety shack about to blow its top.
Remember it? It's 'Dynamite Shack'.
Need the instructions? [pdf]
I did not think this was a fun game.

Strange how long we would spend playing board games that we didn't think were much fun.
I submit Railroader and Careers. IMHO theres nothing fun about building a railroad or going to work, either on a board or in real life!

I hated all board games. And Mr. Potato. Remember Mr. Potato? Ugh.

I hated the timed ones, like "Perfection" and "Super Perfection" (or whatever they were called) - the games where you had to fit pieces into matching-shaped slots on the board before a timer ran out.
That timer always made me nervous.

I hated the timed ones too, I pretty much bit my tongue off once playing Perfection! That's probablly the last time I played that game, now that I think of it.

Gosh, all we had was mousetrap. Oh, and "cooties". I was so glad we didn't own Perfection. That buzzer freaked me right the hell out.
Dynamite shack looks...unpleasant.

God. To think that Perfection and Operation gave me a heart attack. I always thought I was just a high-strung kid, but I wouldn't go near those games today, either. "Perfection"? What the HELL were they trying to teach us??

hahahaha. Maybe I need to sue Parker Brothers for turning me into a perfectionist.

hey :) Congrats on the house and I'm glad everything is ok with Molly, but I'm so so so very sorry to hear about your mother. :( :( It gets easier with time, but sadly, you never really get over it. Hang in there...
