your favorite workout grooves

My mind is made up: I'm going to buy an iPod nano.

So cute! I'm going to love it and hug it and call it George. Wait. No, I'm not, because naming inanimate objects is a dopey thing to do. I will, however, knit and crochet it an entire little wardrobe; because, while also dopey, at least it's functional. Baby mustn't get scratched.

Here's where you come to my aid: my CD collection is packed with classical, jazz, and folk music. Hildegard von Bingen may have been consumed by the fire of inspiration, but she's never reported to have gone for the burn.

So, recommend some of your favorite workout grooves that will inspire me to get into the gym.

work short-row heel on 36 stitches

2x2_8
use 17 stitches from needle 1 and 19 from needle 4
decrease down to 18 stitches
and increase back up again, of course
you can try and follow my tortuous directions for a short-row heel, changing the numbers as needed. Also, Alison has a short-row tutorial which has lots of pictures and I think is the same as the heel I normally use.

private knitting

I’ve actually been knitting quite a bit recently. Every time I show a finished sweater, it means that somewhere in the background, a new project is starting. I just haven’t felt much like talking about my new projects lately. I’ve been happy to come home and snuggle up on the couch with my new best friends, and I haven’t felt like sharing.

That said, I think they will start making appearances soon. I can feel myself loosening up again the tiniest bit. I’m also taking on a new project soon that I’m looking forward to documenting in excruciating detail.

[we now return you to your regularly scheduled sock, already in progress]
